Michael Berman Limited

One of America’s leading interior and home furnishings designers, BMC was instrumental, through our four years working for Michael Berman Limited, in establishing Michael Berman as a company with a national reputation for interior design services as well as a comprehensive line of modern American ready-to-use furniture.

In 2002, Michael Berman Limited hired Burditch Marketing Communications (BMC) to promote Berman’s furniture line and residential/commercial installations by creating a multi-layered public relations and marketing outreach program to raise his profile within the design community and beyond in lifestyle media outlets. This was accomplished with media relations, community relations, design industry trade relations, events and collateral production.

* BMC introduced new furniture at Pacific Design Center’s WESTWEEK each year. Aggressive media relations campaign resulted in such placements as Architectural Digest, Southern Accents, Western Interiors and Design, PaperCity and C magazines, and dozens of other top shelter and luxury lifestyle publications.
* BMC secured numerous feature profiles in such distinguished national publications as House Beautiful and Metropolitan Home (cover story) and such regional outlets as Los Angeles Times, California Homes, and Brentwood magazine.
* Promotion of Berman’s residential installations resulted in a feature story on fashion mogul Armand Marciano’s home in Robb Report Luxury Home. The 10-page story not only highlighted Berman’s interior design sensibility but also his furniture used throughout the 30,000 square foot house.
* In early 2004, Berman was hired to design Los Angeles-based restaurant Grace. Promotion of this commercial installation resulted in placements in such leading consumer publications as InStyle, Los Angeles Magazine, Angeleno and such trade publications as Nation’s Restaurant News.
* We introduced Michael Berman to the non-profit organization, Caring For Babies With AIDS which later became The Children’s Circle. Michael became a board member of the organization and the organization benefited from an annual Christmas event which BMC produced and which went from Michael’s studio to the St. Regis Hotel to the Pacific Design Center. The event received major local television and newspaper exposure on just about every local channel and in all the Los Angeles area newspapers. The event positioned Michael not only as a leading interior designer but created a vehicle for Michael to give back to the community.

In an effort to expand Berman’s name nationally and globally, BMC secured licensing agreements with Kravet Fabrics; Janus et Cie (pending) and Walker Zanger. These were in addition to Berman’s licensees with AgaJohn and household/commercial plumbing fixtures for ROHL.

During four years of representation, BMC’s consistent media relation efforts have helped to increase name recognition and awareness for Michael Berman, as well as sales for his furniture line, which in turn, led to growth and expansion of his company Michael Berman Limited. BMC created strong relationships within the interior design community and built solid new partnerships for Michael Berman Limited.
